Assigning hardware: hinges, slides and pulls

The hardware library is your own catalog: your slides, hinges and pulls with maker, SKU and price, entered once and picked where the design needs them. Open it here: Hardware Library.

What the library holds

The Hardware page keeps your reusable hardware in one place: drawer slides, hinges, hinge plates, pulls, knobs, legs, shelf pins and connectors. Each entry carries the maker, the SKU, the price and the specs that matter, so a slide is a real slide with a real clearance, not a guess.

On a Systainer wall, slides do the heavy lifting

Every shop-built tray in the planner rides on a pair of drawer slides you buy. In Pro mode you can pick a specific slide model straight from your hardware library, and the cabinet is then cut around that model's own clearances. If you have not picked one yet, keep it on Generic and just choose the slide type - the planner uses sound defaults until you decide.

Or skip the tray: SYS-AZ

SYS-AZ is Festool's own ready-made drawer for Systainers. Choose it instead of a shop-built tray and the cabinet is cut to SYS-AZ's own opening spec.

Hinges and pulls

Record them in the library with everything else. A Systainer wall itself is an open rack - no doors, no fronts, by design - so hinges and pulls come into play when you design fronted cabinetry, not on the wall itself. If you are recording hinges and want their cup bores and drill positions, the Salice Hinge Calculator does the drilling math.
