Open beta terms

CabDesign and StackDesign are free to use, in full, while they are in open beta. This page covers what the beta includes, what you get for reporting a bug, how the 3FREE code works, and what happens when the beta ends.

The short version

A quick read to get oriented. The numbered sections below are the terms themselves.

1. Who these terms are from

Bespoke Woodcraft Studio runs CabDesign at cabdesign.app and StackDesign at stackdesign.app. These open beta terms cover both.

They add to our general Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. They do not replace either one, so everything in those documents still applies to you while the beta runs.

2. What the open beta is

Both products are free, in full, during the open beta. Every feature that is built is open to every account. Anyone can sign up, and you do not need to put a card on file to use either product.

The beta runs until 31 October 2026. If we cannot finish everything we planned, or bugs are still turning up, we may keep it open longer, and we will tell you by 30 September 2026 if that happens. Either way, we will email account holders before we start charging, so nobody wakes up to a bill they did not expect.

One optional offer, made once. After you save your first design we ask, one time, whether you would like to put a card on file so the free months you have banked start the day the beta ends. It is entirely optional. Skipping costs you nothing, your banked months are yours either way, and we do not ask again. If you do take it, nothing is charged during the beta: we show you the exact first charge date before you agree, we email you a copy of those terms as soon as your card is saved, and you can cancel online at any time before that date from Manage billing without being charged at all. If we extend the beta, your first charge date moves with it, and we email you the new one. It will never move earlier. What happens to your account when the beta ends, whether or not you save a card, is section 3 below.

We are still building, so the products move under your feet a little. We may change a beta feature, or pause one while we work on it.

3. What happens when the beta ends

The open beta ends on 31 October 2026. On that day we move every beta account onto a paid plan, and the first month on that plan is free. You do not have to do anything for this to happen, and nothing is charged on the day itself.

Which plan your account moves to. It follows the site your account was made on.

The plan each account moves to when the beta ends.
Your accountThe plan it moves to
Made on cabdesign.appDIY, $29 a month
Made on stackdesign.appUnlimited, $19 a month
Made before we started recording which site you signed up onWhichever plan fits the work on the account. Any CabDesign work means DIY, a StackDesign-only account means Unlimited, and an empty account gets DIY.

What each plan opens. DIY opens everything the beta opened, StackDesign included. Unlimited opens the StackDesign wall planner and the shared libraries, and it does not open the CabDesign room Designer. If you have been using both, the pricing page shows what each plan covers, and section 9 says how to reach us.

Your free months come off the front of it. Everyone gets one free month at the close. Any months you banked, from bug reports or the 3FREE code, are added to that month, up to the nine (9) months this page already describes, so the longest free run is ten months. Banked months are yours whether or not you save a card. If you banked three months and never save one, your free run is four months.

If you have a card on file. When your free period ends, the plan begins charging at the price above, every month, and it keeps renewing until you cancel. We email you before the first charge and the email carries the date. You can cancel online at any time: open Account settings, press Manage billing, then press Cancel. It takes one press, you never have to call us or write to us, and if you cancel before the first charge date you are not charged at all and you keep your access to the end of the free period you already have.

If you do not have a card on file. Nothing is charged, at any point. We cannot charge a card we do not hold, and we do not ask for one when the beta closes. Your subscription ends by itself at the end of your free period, and your account moves to our free plan that same day.

What the free plan gives you. The Designer stays open. On CabDesign that is the room Designer, and on StackDesign it is the wall planner. Your saved projects, materials and inventory stay on your account, and you can open them and carry on working. What the free plan does not include is the cut list: making a cut list, and using the Cut List Optimizer, needs a paid plan on either product. Nothing you made is deleted, and you can start a plan whenever you like from your account settings.

If we extend the beta. Every date above moves later with it, and never earlier. We will tell you by 30 September 2026 if the beta runs past 31 October 2026, and if your first charge date changes we email you the new one.

4. Beta software has rough edges

Expect rough edges. That is what a beta is, and finding them is most of what we are asking for.

Keep your own copy of anything that matters. In CabDesign, the Save to computer button writes a whole design to a file you hold. In StackDesign, send your bank to the cut list, then print it or download the CSV. Do that for any project you would be sorry to lose.

We work hard to keep your projects intact, and during the beta we cannot promise it.

5. Report a bug, earn a free month

Every tool page carries a report button once you are signed in. Use it to tell us what went wrong. If your report leads to a fix, you earn one free month of service, credited to your account and applied once paid plans start.

How the bug reward works.
The ruleWhat it means
One month per fixA report that leads to a fix earns one free month of service.
First clear report winsThe first report that clearly describes a bug earns the credit. A later report of the same bug does not.
Six months is the ceilingYou can earn at most six (6) months this way, however many reports you send.
We decide what countsWe judge in good faith whether a report described a real bug and whether it led to a fix.
Months, not moneyCredits are months of service. They are not cash, and they cannot be given or sold to anyone else.
Abuse earns nothingWe may withhold credit for spam, made-up reports, or anything else sent to game the reward.

Your credits sit on your account until paid plans start, and then they run down one month at a time.

6. The 3FREE code

The code 3FREE is worth three (3) months of free service once paid plans start. One redemption per person.

There are two ways to use it. Enter 3FREE in your account during the beta and the three (3) months are banked there, ready for the day paid plans begin. Or keep the code and enter it at checkout after the beta ends.

Bug reward months and the 3FREE code add together. Six (6) months of bug credit alongside the code's three (3) months comes to nine (9) months, which is the most anyone can hold.

How to sign up

Both products are free while the beta runs, and you do not need a card to sign up. The button carries the 3FREE code with you and enters it on your account settings page, so the three months are banked without you typing anything.

Start free with 3FREE

Already have an account? Sign in and the code comes with you.

7. Your account

One person per account. Do not share your sign-in, and do not open extra accounts to get around the limits on this page.

The conduct rules in our general Terms of Service apply during the beta exactly as they do after it. We may suspend an account that abuses the beta.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update this page while the beta runs. The date at the top is the date of the version you are reading. If you keep using either product after an update, that is your acceptance of the updated terms.

9. Questions

Ask, and a person answers. The support page has the guides and a direct line to us. Questions about these beta terms specifically can go to support@cabdesign.app for CabDesign, or support@stackdesign.app for StackDesign.
