Deleting your account, and what goes with it

You can close your own account whenever you want, without asking us. It is permanent, so here is exactly what happens and what to do first.

Do this first

Download a copy of your data. The export hands you the same set that the delete erases, in one file, and it takes about as long as reading this sentence. Once the delete has run there is no self-serve restore and nothing on your side of the screen can bring it back.

If you are paying for a plan, open Manage billing on the same page and cancel it there first, so the billing side ends the way you meant it to. Refunds and cancellations covers what cancelling does.

How to close the account

1. Open your account page

   from your name or picture in the top bar, and scroll to the bottom.

2. Press "Delete my account…"

   in the red card. Nothing has happened yet.

3. Read the list, then type your workspace name.

   The dialog names the workspace and lists what goes with it. The button stays disabled until the name you type matches.

4. Press "Permanently close".

   Your workspace is erased, your sign-in is closed, and you are signed out and returned to the front page.

What is erased

• every saved project, every cut list and every setting in the workspace
• the workspace itself, along with its membership
• your sign-in login

That includes your materials, your hardware, your remnants, your Systainer inventory and your saved layouts, because all of them belong to the workspace. It is one action, not a queue: the workspace and everything in it go straight away.

If your sign-in takes a second attempt

Closing the account happens in two parts. The workspace and its data go first and immediately. Closing the sign-in login itself is a separate step, and once in a while it needs retrying. If that happens you will see a message saying so, and your login may stay alive a little longer with nothing behind it. Email support@cabdesign.app and we will finish closing it.

If other people share your workspace

Deleting the workspace erases everything in it for everyone in it, so if anyone else belongs to yours the dialog names them before it lets you go any further. Their projects, cut lists, materials, pricing and settings would go with yours.

If you are a member of someone else's workspace rather than its owner, deleting is the wrong control. Use Leave this workspace instead: you take yourself out, you keep your own sign-in, and the work stays with the shop it belongs to.

If you only want a break

Closing the account is not the only way to stop. You can cancel a paid plan and keep the account, in which case your projects stay saved and readable. Deleting is for when you want the data gone as well.
