What the open beta includes, and what happens when it ends
There is no trial and no clock. Both products are free, in full, while the open beta runs, and we never ask for a card to let you in.
What the beta opens
Every feature that is built is open to every account. That is StackDesign, the materials library, the Cut List Optimizer and the hardware library, and it is the full kitchen Designer as well. Nothing is held back for a paid tier, because nothing is being sold yet.
Anyone can sign up. Sign in with Google or with an email link, and the whole thing is open on the next screen.
There is no clock to run out
This used to be a seven-day trial. It is not one any more. Nothing starts counting down when you create your account, there is no date to remember, and since we hold no card, there is nothing to cancel.
The one thing worth knowing is that we are still building. A beta feature can change, or pause for a while, so keep your own copy of anything that matters: in the Designer, Save to computer writes a whole design to a file you hold, and in StackDesign you can send your bank to the cut list and download the CSV.
What happens when the beta ends
The beta runs until 31 October 2026. If we need more time to finish what we planned, or bugs are still turning up, we may keep it open longer, and we will tell you by 30 September 2026 if that happens. Either way, we email account holders before we start charging, so nobody wakes up to a bill they did not expect.
What changes is that your account moves onto a plan, with the first month free and any months you banked added to it. If you put a card on file during the beta, that plan starts charging when your free run ends, at the price you were shown, and you can cancel online at any time before then from your account settings page. If you never put a card on file, nothing is charged: the subscription ends by itself and your account moves to our free plan. On the free plan the Designer stays open on both products and your saved work is all still there. The one thing that needs a paid plan is the cut list.
Your work is not the thing at stake either way. Projects, materials and inventory stay saved on your account, and nothing is deleted when the beta closes. What each plan covers and costs is in Pricing explained.
Months you may already have banked
Two things you can do during the beta come off that first bill:
- Report a bug that leads to a fix and you earn one free month of service, up to six months in total. Every tool page has a report button once you are signed in.
- Enter the 3FREE code in your account and three months are banked there, waiting for the day paid plans begin. You can also keep the code and enter it at checkout after the beta ends.
