Getting started: your first Systainer wall

This walks you from a brand-new account to a planned wall with a cut list ready for the saw. If you can measure a wall, you can do all of it.

Seven steps, start to finish

1. Create your account.

   Open StackDesign and pick Sign in to continue, or start from the Start free trial button on the home page. You can sign in with Google, with your email and a password, or by asking for a sign-in link by email. Every new account starts a free 7-day trial of the whole toolset, and we never ask for a card.

2. Look around the sample wall.

   The first time the planner opens on a new account it loads a finished sample project: a laundry-room Systainer wall with real materials assigned. Poke at it to see what a complete plan looks like, or start your own project fresh.

3. Set your wall width.

   Type it in the unit you think in: millimeters, centimeters, decimal inches, fractional inches down to 1/16", or feet and inches. Every number in the tool follows the unit you pick.

4. Tell it which cases you own.

   The Stock view is a searchable shelf of the whole catalog: 217 cases across Festool and Tanos, plus Benchdogs UK, Lamello, TSO Products and UJK. Search by tool name, model or Festool order number, and set how many of each you own.

5. Build the wall.

   The fastest path is Place my Systainers: it builds cabinets from the boxes you own. Fill wall adds as many standard cabinets as fit across your width, and Add cabinet places them one at a time. Here is what each one does.

6. Pick your materials.

   Cabinets are built from real sheet goods in your materials library, and the plan totals what you need to buy.

7. Send it to the cut list.

   One click on Send to cut list hands every part to the Cut List Optimizer, which lays them out on your sheets. Print the cut list there, or download it.
